Students

Student Ministries is committed to loving and serving students and their families as they navigate the teen years and explore their faith in Christ

Our goal in Student Ministries is to equip families and students to live and love like Jesus.

Student Ministries is open to 6th through 12th-grade students and emphasizes strategically focused Bible studies, events, retreats, and service projects to meet students where they are and ignite a passion for Christ that will stick with them wherever they go.

Students are performing on stage in the student ministries building at St. Luke's.

Student Ministries offers a student-led worship experience in their own building on Sunday mornings.

What to expect:

  •  Students start to arrive around 9:30 to play games, grab a donut, or mingle with their peers until programming starts
  • We begin our programming at 9:45 every Sunday in the Student Ministries Building
  • After a few worship songs, students divide into middle school, high school, and Confirmation groups to hear a lesson that is tailored for each group
  • At the end of our programming, students and families can hang out until the building closes at 11:05 for our staff and volunteers to attend a worship service

Faith is caught as much as it is taught.

Small Groups meet in host homes from 7 to 8:30 on Wednesday nights during the school year. Groups are divided by age and gender. Each week, students gather to eat dinner, catch up with friends, and explore the Bible through discussion-based studies guided by volunteers.

Confirmation isn’t a destination, it’s a journey.

Students in 6th through 8th grade are invited to embark on a meaningful Confirmation experience. Through interactive lessons, table discussions, and retreats, students will forge connections and friendships that last a lifetime, all while engaging with scripture and discovering what it means to be part of God's big story. We delve into the core beliefs of the Christian faith, providing space for students to grow in their faith while also reflecting on their own faith questions. Here, they learn to trust in Jesus, even amidst doubts.

6th grade confirmation classes are held in the fall on Sunday mornings at 9:45. 7th graders attend middle school student ministry programming to engage in community-building, focusing on service. In 8th grade, students return to confirmation classes in the spring on Sunday mornings at 9:45. The journey culminates with a celebration of students who choose to be confirmed on Confirmation Sunday.
