1 John 2:12-14

All Saints Sunday is a significant day in the Christian calendar, dedicated to remembering and honoring those who have gone before us in faith. This day highlights the interconnectedness of the saints above and the saints below, offering a moment to reflect on our place within the beloved community of God. The term 'saint' appears 67 times in the New Testament and refers to followers of Jesus, emphasizing that sainthood is rooted in God's love and forgiveness rather than moral perfection. Key aspects of being a saint include the forgiveness of sins, having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and being part of the triumph of good over evil. All Saints Sunday also underscores the 'thin place' between earth and heaven, where the saints who have gone before us worship alongside us. As members of the beloved community, we are called to support one another, pray for each other, and work together to bring about God's kingdom on earth. Practical ways to live out our sainthood include embracing forgiveness, deepening our relationship with Christ, and being a light in the darkness. By doing so, we honor the legacy of the saints and continue their work in our world. Keywords: All Saints Sunday, Christian calendar, beloved community, forgiveness, relationship with Jesus, triumph over evil, thin place, God's kingdom.
