Westheimer Roof Replacement

Although some of the old flat roofing was replaced as part of the 2016 expansion, some was determined to have more serviceable life available and was kept. This roofing ranges in age from 44 years to over 75 years and needs to be replaced due to water infiltration. 

Chiller Replacement

St. Luke’s has 3 chillers in rotation to keep the HVAC systems at the Westheimer Campus running. Two have been in service for over 34 years, the third was new with the 2016 expansion. During hot weather, we need two chillers running, one of the 34-year-old units has extensive internal damage and needs to be replaced.

IT Network Switch Replacement

Signage at the Gethsemane Campus

The Gethsemane signage project includes a new digital exterior sign to communicate church and missional partner events and programs in various languages.  Additional parking lot and interior signage will guide people throughout our campus. 

Plumbing Project at Gethsemane Campus

Because of the height of the city sewer main, 90% of the effluent from the building needs to be ground and pumped up for disposal. We currently employ a very small single-pump system to achieve this purpose. There is no redundancy and when the pump fails it causes back-ups throughout the building forcing us to cancel programming. A larger holding tank, with redundant pumps and remote monitoring will be hugely beneficial to keep the programs and ministries operating without interruption.

Gethsemane Campus HVAC Improvements

The HVAC system at Gethsemane is very old and although we have done extensive work to ensure reliability there are air handling units and condensing units that are problematic to keep running.

Westheimer Campus HVAC Automation Upgrade

The software that runs the Westheimer Campus HVAC system is outdated, unsupported, and proprietary. Upgrading to current technology will greatly improve building comfort and reliability.

Westheimer Campus Parking Lot and Road Reseal and Striping

The last time the parking lot was resurfaced and painted was when the new facilities opened in 2016. The lines have faded and several potholes need to be filled.

Additional Chiller Replacement (in 2027)

As mentioned above, St. Luke’s needs to have 3 chillers in rotation to keep our HVAC systems running. Our third chiller is at the end of its useful life and once we have replaced the second one, we will begin the process of replacing the third one.
