Zoe group

Empowering 60 orphaned Rwandan youth journeying from extreme poverty to self-sufficiency

“Before Zoe, I struggled with hardships for food, medical insurance, and other issues. I found training as a barber, but I couldn’t provide myself with the haircutting tools I needed to start a business. Zoe’s initial grant provided those tools and now I have a good and beautiful barbershop! With my business profit, I have been able to construct my own home and I have bought a cow.” -Jean Paul, 20 years old, sole caregiver for three younger siblings
Trt

Increasing home security & longevity for 4 families in need of significant home repairs or accessibility modifications

Angela lives in the home her father and grandfather built over 70 years. She worked as a manager at two Kroger stores until she was violently robbed and beaten while out shoe shopping, leaving her with physical and emotional scars that prevented her from returning to full-time work. Angela found strength in part-time work caregiving for others. When a tree fell on her home during Hurricane Beryl, it caused major structural issues that were well beyond Angela’s means to repair. She has resorted to running a garden hose through her kitchen window just to have water indoors. Still, Angela holds on to hope, home, and the legacy her family built. ’This house is everything to me,’ she says. ‘It’s the only piece of my parents I have left.’”
Yelany and family

Equipping 120 workforce development participants to achieve their dreams

Yelany, 29, has achieved her dream of having her own housekeeping business thanks to her training through Martha’s Way. Her business has quickly grown, enabling her to hire other Martha’s Way graduates and take maternity leave with peace of mind, knowing her business could continue to thrive even while she was away.

The people who walk in darkness will see a great light. For those who live in a land of deep darkness, a light will shine. -Isaiah 9:2
