God,
I am so grateful that, by your amazing grace, you accept me just as I am. At the same time, God, I pray that you would not allow me to stay just as I am, but rather would change me, by the work of the Holy Spirit, from the inside out. So much of the time, I want the world around me to change, but how can I expect change from others if I resist the change you intend for my own life?
So, God I pray that I might live with a changed heart and changed pattern of life. Shape me to think, speak, and behave as your son Jesus taught, by the operating principles of his Kingdom rather than those of the world around me.
As his follower, teach me to respond…
to hatred with love,
to fear with courage,
to selfishness with sacrifice,
to evil with good,
to angry words with an understanding heart,
to destruction with edification,
to division with reconciliation,
to despair with hope.
I want to be an agent of your Kingdom, so bring about a change in me, that I might be a tiny bit of leaven to help your Kingdom grow, on earth as it is in heaven. Amen.
