When the Holy Spirit came upon the church on the day of Pentecost, a fire was ignited in the followers of Jesus, and nothing could stop the spread of the gospel and the growth of the kingdom of God. Despite the challenges of persecution and famine, and maybe even because of the challenges, nobody could tamp out the good news. The church stands at a moment of great opportunity in these crazy days, as we are forced out of our comfortable places to find new ways to be about the work of Christ.
