by Andrew Howard, Class of 2018 I was waiting for my prayers to be answered. I was praying for a sign from God to help me really know that, without a doubt, he was real. And that day came during Fall Retreat when God shot me with all the truth of all the ways that he had been in my life. Maybe he made me to talk to people who really need his grace and forgiveness. In the fall of 2015 my voice teacher told me that someone from a music school was coming to Houston for [...]

by Rev. Bill Denham I remember learning my ABC’s in kindergarten. I remember learning my times tables, with flash cards, in the 3rd grade. I don’t remember learning any creeds. I don’t remember learning any because I was not reared in a church which had them. I am glad that each of my children has learned and that each of my grandchildren will learn the Apostles’ Creed. We are blessed that we have creeds, several of them in fact. The one we say most often is the Apostles’ Creed. Repetition is key in learning. Repeating over and over [...]

When Deanna Wilson retired at 55, she and her husband Dick considered participating in Mainstreamers programs but thought they might be too young. Yet they kept seeing the St Luke’s bus at fun restaurants and reconsidered. “These people were so much older, and we didn’t really belong there, but we want to go to fun restaurants on the bus too!” And so began 21 years of fun with the senior adult program at St. Luke’s. They were indeed some of the youngest people onboard the bus, but sort of loved that! Mainstreamers programs provided them with excellent speakers and [...]
